簡介

This seminar will provide an overview of the latest advancements in Internet of Things (loT) technology, focusing on 5G RedCap, Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), and 6G New Radio (6G NR).

The session will begin with NTN, exploring how satellite-based and high-altitude platform solutions can integrate with 5G and future 6G networks to expand loT connectivity. The session will then shift to 5G RedCap, highlighting its key features that enable enhanced loT applications and it’s testing requirement.

This seminar will also give you the idea about new cellular application, cellular based sensing capabilities.

The main emphasis will be on 6G NR and its anticipated improvements over 5G. The role of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and edge computing in shaping the future of loT will also be examined.

Attendees will gain insights into the technological foundations of these emerging loT technologies and their potential to transform various industries, from smart cities and healthcare to industrial automation. The seminar will provide a valuable opportunity for participants to engage with experts and explore the trajectory of loT innovation.

Ng Keck Meng ( 黃克明 )
Ng Keck Meng ( 黃克明 ) / Senior Application Engineer, Rohde & Schwarz Singapore
Ng Keck Meng has been active in Radio Frequency and Wireless Technology Engineering field for more than 10 years with extensive knowledge and experience on RF and Microwave industry. He received a Bachelor Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 2002. He had been working in Motorola for 5 years in mobile device development for wireless cellular technology. Thereafter, he move on to Test and Measurement industry under Anritsu for 5 years as Senior Application Engineer supporting South East Asia region. Currently, he is a Cellular and Wireless Technical Specialist for Rohde & Schwarz ASIA.
Cedric Koh ( 許國偉 )
Cedric Koh ( 許國偉 ) / System Product Manager, Rohde & Schwarz Singapore
Cedric is currently a system product manager with Rohde & Schwarz, specializing in the field of RF coverage, NETOP and conformance test systems.
Cedric is with Rohde and schwarz for 13 years and he leads a team of technical sales specialist who are involved in providing training, solutioning and consultation of coverage and conformance test system to numerous international test laboratories, telecommunication operators, government agencies and railway operators.
He currently holds a Honors Degree majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, awarded by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
Dr. Eddy Chiu ( 招溢利 )
Dr. Eddy Chiu ( 招溢利 ) / Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute
Dr Eddy Chiu is a Director at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI). He has led R&D projects on 4G to 6G technologies, spectrum management, and smart city communications networks. In addition, he has led multiple government telecommunications consultancy projects in Hong Kong. Eddy is a Senior Member of the IEEE, the Vice Chair of the IEEE Hong Kong Section in 2022 and 2023, and the Treasurer of the IEEE Hong Kong Section in 2020 and 2021. Eddy’s R&D focus includes 4G to 6G mobile network, mobile base station, and mobile terminal technologies, spectrum management, and smart city communications networks.
Dr. Taro Eichler
Dr. Taro Eichler / Technology Manager for Wireless Communication and Photonics, Rohde & Schwarz
Taro Eichler is Technology Manager for wireless communications and photonics at Rohde & Schwarz in Munich with a focus on 5G/6G technologies. With more than 15 years of experience in wireless communication, he is currently working on various 6G industry research projects covering topics such as THz communication, photonics, channel measurements and reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, also representing the company in the ETSI ISG THz. Prior to joining Rohde & Schwarz, Taro worked for Intel Corporation as specialist for photonic communication and for NTT Basic Research Laboratories. He also worked on research projects at The University of Tokyo in the field of quantum optics with a scholarship by the Alexander-von-Humboldt foundation. He holds a diploma in physics from the Technical University of Munich with thesis at the Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Bonn, Germany.
